Shetland Business, Glansin Glass, Awarded Four Stars from VisitScotland for Visitor Centre
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Shetland business, Glansin Glass, for receiving four stars from VisitScotland for its visitor centre; understands that Glansin Glass, in Unst, was assessed anonymously on its glass-making sessions, shop and overall visitor experience; further understands that the visitor centre opened in May 2021 following three years of development, and offers glass-making sessions for visitors of all ages; congratulates glass artist, Cheryl Jamieson, of Glansin Glass, for achieving what it understands is a long-standing ambition of hers to have a purpose-built visitor centre; understands that Ms Jamieson’s glassware designs are inspired by the landscape of Shetland; considers that the four star award from VisitScotland shows a positive recognition of the work of the island-based craft business, and wishes all at Glansin Glass well.
