Douglas Academy Awarded Bronze Level LGBT Charter
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Douglas Academy on being awarded the Bronze level LGBT Charter status by LGBT Youth Scotland; understands that the charter helps schools ensure that LGBT learners and staff are safe, supported and included; considers that the award sends a positive message to learners, teachers, parents and carers, and the local community that the school is promoting diversity and creating an inclusive and safe space for all to develop; commends learners and teaching staff for their hard work in achieving the charter, and welcomes the school’s dedicated webpage for pupils to access information about LGBT organisations and support.
