Global Excellence Ranking for City of Glasgow College

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates City of Glasgow College on receiving a Global Award for Excellence at the 2022 European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Awards in Lyon, securing a 7-Diamond world ranking, the highest level of recognition and, it understands, the best ever score for any educational institution granted by the EFQM’s team of international assessors in the foundation’s 33-year history; commends the college for being the first organisation in Scotland to be awarded 7-Silver sector ranking; notes that the college has been ranked third in the world in EFQM’s overall global benchmarking; understands that the EFQM is an internationally-recognised quality standard and the foremost global council of international excellence; notes that a team of expert assessors from the EFQM conducted a six month assessment of City of Glasgow College, taking part in over 30 meetings with over 200 staff from across the college, including lecturers, student association, concierge and reception staff and managers from across learning and teaching and support services; understands that the assessment team and judging panel were so impressed with the college that they also awarded the college an Outstanding Achievement Global Award for Driving Innovation; congratulates all of the staff at the college, the board and the stakeholders for this fantastic achievement, and believes that these awards are an excellent endorsement of the City of Glasgow College as a world class institution.
