The motion

That the Parliament warmly congratulates Suzy Rock from Dumfries and Galloway on being named social worker of the year at the Scottish Social Services Awards held in Glasgow, recognising and celebrating the very best examples of practice in social work and social care across Scotland; notes that Suzy was nominated in the highly-contested category of Social Worker of the Year, which acknowledges the very best examples of individuals demonstrating their deep commitment to their profession and going above and beyond in their role; recognises that Suzy, who currently works in the criminal justice team within social work, which she joined in October 2021, was nominated by two of the families that she worked with during her previous role in the children and families team, where, it understands, she established solid relationships with them, helping and supporting them in order that they could get back on track and keep the families together; wishes Suzy every success in her future work within the social work sector, and pays tribute to the many other employees whose exemplary work assists those less fortunate.
