Lodged by Neil Bibby (Scottish Labour) Standard Motion 11 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Johnstone History Museum on receiving its 50,000th visitor; understands that the museum has a collection of around 40,000 works, spanning six millennia, made up of photographs, historic documents, maps, memorabilia and industrial artefacts that chart the history of the town; recognises that the 50,000th visitor was presented with a traditional Scottish quaich and commemorative certificate by the chairman of the Johnstone History Society; notes that visitors come in from all over the world, as well as people from the local area, who discover a lot about their own town for the first time; notes that it also hosts school groups and social interest groups for organised visits, and commends it on this achievement.
