Nursing Support Workers’ Day 2022

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the Royal College of Nursing is celebrating Nursing Support Workers’ Day for the third year on Wednesday 23 November 2022; welcomes Nursing Support Workers’ Day as a day to celebrate and recognise the contribution of nursing support workers to nursing teams, families, patients and carers across Scotland; understands that the title "nursing support worker" covers a number of roles across health and social care settings, including healthcare support workers, carers and senior carers, care assistants and clinical support workers; recognises that Nursing Support Workers’ Day is an opportunity to celebrate the work they do, recognise what it believes is their often unseen contribution and shine a spotlight on the variety of critical roles they play within nursing teams; believes that it is vital that nursing support workers get the recognition they deserve, and hopes that MSPs, decision makers, health and care providers and the public are able to demonstrate their support for nursing support workers on 23 November.
