The motion

That the Parliament notes that southern Scotland has been named as one of the best places to visit in Lonely Planet’s Best In Travel 2023 Awards; understands that the Best In Travel Awards include 30 hand-picked destinations from around the world, selected by a panel of experts; further understands that Lonely Planet recognised the region’s beauty due to its extensive forest cover between bustling market towns, with the sunniest weather in Scotland and a special connection to Robert Burns; understands that attractions such as Culzean Castle and Robert Burns Cottage in South Ayrshire, and Traquair House, Abbotsford and Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders, were recommended by Lonely Planet to visit, and congratulates the museums and attractions listed by Lonely Planet in its visitor guide.
