Aberdeen City Council Parks Team Shortlisted at UK Best of Best Green Flag Award Ceremony

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the parks team at Aberdeen City Council for being shortlisted in the Team of Year (Staff) category at the UK Best of Best Green Flag Award Competition Ceremony; understands that the Green Flag Award recognises well-maintained and managed quality greenspaces; further understands that, despite the challenges of COVID-19, budget and resourcing, the team has nurtured tremendous partnerships and community engagement across Aberdeen’s many greenspaces; understands that the team has led five successful Green Flag Award applications leading to Duthie Park, Hazelhead Park, Victoria Park, Johnston Gardens, and Seaton Park receiving the award from environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful; notes that these five Aberdeen City parks form part of 85 greenspaces awarded in 2022, and commends the team on its priority of community engagement and partnership working and its commitment to demonstrating excellent management and improving environmental standards.
