St John Ogilvie High School Beekeeping Success

The motion

That the Parliament commends St John Ogilvie High School in Burnbank, South Lanarkshire, on its first beekeeping season; recognises the achievement of building the apiary and nurturing the "Burnbank Bees", led by teacher, James Swan; congratulates pupils for achieving SCQF level 5 beekeeping; acknowledges the work of the school in raising awareness on the importance of bees through community involvement; notes that the school is now producing Saint John "Ogilbee" organic wild honey and beeswax lip balm products; further notes the cross-curricular learning involved between pupils and staff to keep such an enterprise going, and wishes the school well in its future beekeeping.
