Kilmarnock Service Station's Community Centred Pricing
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the efforts of Robin Bawa, owner of Gulf Burnpark Services in Kilmarnock, in taking what it sees as a community-centred approach to business; understands that Mr Bawa took over the Gulf petrol station and shop in 2016 and has opted to keep his fuel prices lower than or equal to surrounding supermarkets ever since; acknowledges Mr Bawa’s motivation to keep prices low to help his community; understands that this approach has attracted and retained new customers, supporting the creation of six more jobs at the service station; acknowledges the challenge in keeping his prices low as a small business competing with large retailers; commends Mr Bawa’s continued efforts to support his local community, and wishes him, his staff, and his business every success in the future.
