Scotmid to Showcase Five Scottish Favourites in Their Stores

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the latest five food producers from acrossScotland who have been successful in Scotmid’s Scottish Favourites competition,which is run in conjunction with Scotland Food and Drink, with their successseeing their products feature in up to 187 Scotmid stores across the country;understands that Scotmid and Scotland Food and Drink received over 40 entriesfrom producers, with each product judged by a panel of industry experts whoscored each product on taste, packaging and innovation, alongside considerationof store and customer suitability; celebrates the success of Nudie Snacks, Wehae meat, Rora Dairy, Upper Dysart Larder and Rizza’s of Huntly, who allsecured successful product listings through the competition, with theirfeatured products running on promotion in Scotmid stores for a three-weekperiod; understands that Scotmid, which employs around 5,000 people and isScotland’s largest independent co-operative, conducts its Scottish Favouritescompetition to highlight Scotland’s best regional products with broad consumerappeal and champion local producers, and encourages all retailers to replicateScotmid’s commitment to Scottish sourcing by increasing the range of Scottishproduce on their shelves.
