Port Ellen Primary School Named Primary School of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Port Ellen Primary School on being named one of the United Kingdom's most inspirational educators, winning the Gold Award in the Pearson National Teaching Awards for Primary School of the Year; understands that the school was selected for this award facing stiff competition from thousands of other nominated schools; notes that this comes in recognition of the exceptional work delivered by staff to offer a unique curriculum designed around island life with a strong focus also on its Gaelic heritage; believes that this award will bring a great deal of pride to the entire community, and wishes the school the very best in continuing to achieve its ambitions.
