ICON Awards 2022
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the return of Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce’s annual business awards, which aim to recognise business excellence in Inverclyde; appreciates that the newly-named ICON Awards, previously named the Bee’s Knees Awards, is now in its 17th year and were last held in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic; congratulates the 10 award winners: Ocean Youth Trust Scotland (for diversity), Firth of Clyde Boat Tours (tourism), Summerhouse Media (internationalism), On-Site Scanning (business growth), Storm In A Teacup (sustainability), RIG Arts (community benefits), Clyde Eats (entrepreneurism), The Wee Crafty Owl (Covid resilience), Diodes (skills development), and West College Scotland (health and wellbeing); applauds all those in attendance for raising £1,100, which was collected by the Chamber’s trustee, Bruce Newlands, to go towards the chosen charity for the awards, Inverclyde Shed; wishes all of Inverclyde’s business community well for the future, and commends the Inverclyde Chamber for the work that it does to support local businesses.
