The motion

That the Parliament commends West Dunbartonshire Council for joining the Equally Safe at Work Pledge; understands that, through this initiative, the Council will work to tackle violence against women and encourage more diversity in the workplace through a variety of activities over the next 18 months, such as creating policies and procedures to help progress gender equality and better support survivors of abuse; notes that the nationwide campaign is run by the charity, Close the Gap, which is an expert policy and advocacy organisation working in Scotland on women’s participation in the labour market, and considers that much more work still needs to be done to fully eradicate violence against women and girls, locally, nationally, and internationally, but welcomes this step in the right direction from West Dunbartonshire Council.
