Cost of Living Crisis and Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home
The motion
That the Parliament notes with concern the impact that the cost of living crisis is having on the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, which it understands is struggling to meet its energy bills and supplier costs; believes that the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has been providing an essential service rescuing and rehousing dogs and cats across Edinburgh and beyond for nearly 140 years; acknowledges that the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home does not have the option of turning off the lights and heating to save on energy costs due to the nature of the work; understands that the home is launching a campaign for its winter appeal, urging people to make a donation if they can in order to help the home to continue to care for dogs and cats for as long as possible, and wishes the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home every success with its campaign.
