Ayr Grammar Campus wins Project of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ayr Grammar Campus on being awarded Project of the Year at the Learning Places Scotland Awards; notes that the awards took place on 15 November 2022 at the Hilton Glasgow; understands that the awards celebrate excellence in design and delivery of education projects across the country; acknowledges that the project was delivered by Special Property Projects in partnership with Hub South West; notes that Ayr Grammar moved into the iconic Ayr Academy building, originally constructed in 1880, in 2020 following extensive renovation; understands that the renovations supported the longstanding history of education by preserving many of the school's original period and architectural features; further understands that the design team behind Ayr Grammar Campus, architectural practice BPD picked up a conservation accolade at the Glasgow Institute of Architects Awards on 18 November 2022; notes that the school boasts facilities which include an Early Years Centre, Community Facility and South Ayrshire’s Archive Centre; commends all involved in the restoration and renovation work, and wishes everyone well in their future endeavours.
