Major Staff Vacancies in Care Services

The motion

As an amendment to motion S6M-06934 in the name of Alex Rowley (Major Staff Vacancies in Care Services), insert at end "; highlights the reported prior warnings and current concerns from leading experts, which it considers can be seen in research by the Nuffield Trust; believes that Scotland’s difficulties in recruiting and retaining health and social care workers has been exacerbated by Brexit and the loss of freedom of movement; notes with deep concern the reported refusal of the UK Government to reverse what it sees as the hostile environment at the centre of its immigration policies, and supports the creation of a National Care Service, which, it considers, will ensure that all adult care staff experience fair work, and introduce national pay bargaining to deliver more equitable terms and conditions."
