The motion

That the Parliament commends charities and community groups in the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency for their continued dedication in delivering innovative activities and projects that promote inclusion, wellbeing and a community spirit; understands that the National Lottery has awarded significant funding to increase the impact of Twechar Community Action to support the mental and physical wellbeing of local people and to Families of Auchinairn Coming Together SCIO (FACT) to revive community life, connect people, and recognise, celebrate and build upon their strengths of the local people who take part; notes with gratitude the modest funding it understands has been received by other organisations to enable special projects and an enhancement of existing provision; congratulates Acorn Shed Music as it plans for a two-day creative festival, Life Stories in Song, involving the intensive support of 20 to 30 budding songwriters; delights that Campsie Community Gardening and Growing Group has been enabled to encourage positive health benefits and environmental awareness through leading gardening sessions; notes the thoughtfulness of Lenzie Academy pupils in securing funds to create a contemplation and commemoration area to honour and remember pupils and staff who have sadly departed this life; thanks the members of the Kirkintilloch Scrabble Club for its plans to use funding to contribute towards increasing membership in what it understands is a warm and welcoming place, and wishes each of these groups continued success in using their experience and expertise to reach their aims and make a tangible difference in local communities.
