The Economic Forum for Women Empowerment Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates The Economic Forum for Women Empowerment Scotland, which is based in Motherwell, on receiving a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that the grant will allow the group to provide support to vulnerable ethnic minority women through weekly wellbeing sessions and monthly community engagement events, helping, it believes, to reduce isolation and improve mental health; understands that many people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds have positive experiences of mental health care, which leads to recovery, although, considers that, accessing mental health services and support often is a difficult experience due to stigma, fear and culturally sensitive treatment; welcomes what it sees as a valuable resource in the community, and wishes everyone involved all the best for the future.
