Asda Kilmarnock Supports Community Organisations

The motion

That the Parliament commends staff and shoppers at Asda Kilmarnock for their continued efforts to support local organisations and make the communities around their stores better places to live and work; understands that awards from the latest round of Asda’s Green Token Giving funding have been given Fenwick Primary Parent Council (£500), Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (£400), and New Farm Loch Community Council (£300) from Asda Kilmarnock; commends Fenwick Primary Parent Council on its work to drive improvement and support its School and understands that the money will be used to support after school activities; praises Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust on its work to use football as a force for good to support all within its community and understands that the money will be used to deliver programmes across Ayrshire, promoting active lifestyles to tackle health and social inequalities while working with people of all ages, stages, backgrounds and circumstances; welcomes the work of the New Loch Community Council to better its community and understands that the funds will support its activities such as its monthly meetings, litter picks, Halloween Trails, Christmas Fairy Trails, and the annual Gala Day; notes that the Asda Foundation’s award-winning Green Token Giving programme has now migrated online to be able to reach a wider voting audience and that each local project is nominated by customers and colleagues every quarter; understands that the Asda Foundation invested more than £800,000 in community projects in 2021; recognises the powerful impact that it believes  charitable giving has on the wider community; congratulates each organisation on their award, and wishes them all the best in their efforts to invest in their communities.
