Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre Awarded £150,000 from National Lottery Community Fund

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre on securing £150,000 of funding from the National Lottery; understands that this grant from the Community Fund will go towards a number of activities, initiatives and programmes with varying aims with the overarching goal of enriching community life; notes that this will include a community cafe, training and employability programmes; understands that this extended project will take place over three years, involving 30 volunteers; further understands that this work will ultimately benefit over 3,000 people from Kirkshaws and across Coatbridge; recognises that, since 1989, the Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre had worked to support and empower local people as well as facilitating community engagement; understands that its diverse provision of activities, services and programmes is guided by the prioritisation of Kirkshaws specific needs; notes that this grant will enable the continuation and expansion of the group's established contribution to the community, and thanks the group and its volunteers both for its past decades of service to the community and their contributions to come.
