New Community Football Initiative Launched To Help Improve Men's Health

The motion

That the Parliament commends a new community initiative to help improve the mental and physical health of local men through football; understands that Pounds 2 Pitches, set up by a group of Lanarkshire friends, and based at Five’s in Hamilton, was only set up in October 2022 and has already grown its numbers to over 40 members and raised hundreds of pounds for local causes; further understands that the club provides a safe space for men to exercise and work on their fitness, where they can opt to work on shedding pounds by having their weight recorded before enjoying a friendly game of football each Friday evening, and wishes the group every success going forward.
