ACS Clothing Celebrates B Corp Accreditation, Partnership with eBay and £10 Million Investment From Circularity Capital

That the Parliament applauds Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), the UK’s leading circular and sustainable fashion enabler, on its recent B Corp accreditation, partnership with eBay UK and £10 million investment from Circularity Capital; understands that the Lanarkshire-based reuse and resale experts has received official B Corp accreditation with a meteoric score of 150.9, well above the threshold score for certification set at 80, which it believes is a testament to its high standards of social and environmental performance, putting people and planet first across its business; notes that B Corp is a status awarded by a non-profit organisation called B Lab, which was started in 2006 as a way to help companies maximise the positive impact of their business, and believes that passing it proves the company has a deep commitment to changing not just the way they do business, but the way that business is done all over the world; considers that ACS Clothing’s recent partnership with eBay UK to pioneer preloved fashion, will help eBay grow in the resale market by extending clothing life to minimise waste and keep current garments in circulation for longer, through textile repairs, eco-friendly cleaning and quality control to get those preloved items back on the shelf; believes that this partnership with eBay is not only important news for the development of circular fashion, but with ACS processing over six million items at its 200,000 sq ft fashion hub in Holytown each year, it is a milestone for ACS as it opens its first brand approved shop front, online; welcomes the partnership between ACS and Circularity Capital, a specialist growth equity fund manager that invests in European SMEs operating within the circular economy, who, it understands, have invested £10 million to help ACS realise its objective of creating one of Europe’s largest circular fashion solutions providers specialising in clothing rental, subscription and resale, and looks forward to hosting ACS, alongside its industry partners in the Scottish Parliament from 20 to 22 December 2022 to present its ideas in-person to MSPs.
