Speak Up, Speak Out and Be Heard

The motion

That the Parliament commends Motherwell Football Club on the launch of its new football strip, which is in aid of mental health; notes that all profits from kit sales will be donated to the Samaritans, Breathing Space, Childline and Chris’s House in Wishaw; understands that the new darkness to light luminous kit will contain a visible patch with helpline numbers, to help, encourage and empower fans who are struggling, to speak up, speak out and be heard; notes that the campaign aims to raise awareness of mental ill-health and suicide, helping to try to prevent tragedies in the future; believes that the emotional impact on families, friends and communities bereaved by suicide is devastating; commends Motherwell FC for taking another step to improve mental health and wellbeing in Motherwell, and the wider North Lanarkshire area, and wishes the club all the best for the future.
