Queen’s Nurse Title Returns to NHS Borders
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Borders Health Visitor, Tania Ferguson on being awarded the Queen’s Nurse title; understands that Tania was nominated to join the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland programme for consistently being at the forefront of improvement and innovation in Health Visiting; further understands that Tania, who has spent 35 years in nursing, is a leading force in driving forward practice development, staff wellbeing and person-centred practice; notes that, until five years ago, the Queen’s Nurse title had not been awarded since 1969 and that, since its reintroduction, NHS Borders has had a member of its staff awarded the title every year, and pays credit to the Queens Nurse programme on providing opportunities for development in the sector and recognising outstanding nursing practice.
