Helensburgh Community Hub Hosts Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Helensburgh Community Hub on becoming the first organisation in Argyll and Bute to host Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for children; recognises that it will be initially offered to children in Helensburgh Central and Helensburgh East with plans to expand the programme to Helensburgh North and Helensburgh West following fundraising in 2023; understands that children who are eligible can either sign up online or at the Book Nook within Helensburgh Community Hub, on East Princes Street; thanks Hub Development Manager, Gill Simpson, for securing the scheme and for ongoing work to make the programme a success; notes that a child who enrols from birth to their fifth birthday will build up their own home library of up to 60 books; recognises that the programme is the brainchild of Dolly Parton who aims to nurture young minds and bring families together through the love of reading, and further recognises that the programme covers all overheads and administration costs associated with the Imagination Library through the Dollywood Foundation.
