The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Addictions Counselling Inverness will benefit from £13,125 funding from the Scotch Whisky Action Fund (SWAF); understands that Addictions Counselling Inverness is now in its third year of funding from the SWAF, which has allowed the charity to expand its services significantly; understands that the charity, which provides addiction recovery support, is now able to offer group therapy and family support gatherings alongside its one-to-one counselling; further understands that this year’s funding will allow the charity to continue delivering free counselling to individuals who are affected by the alcohol use of close family members; recognises what it sees as the importance of the service provided by Addiction Counselling Inverness in delivering support to individuals and families who may otherwise struggle with isolation; thanks the SWAF for its continued support of the Inverness charity and all other award recipients across Scotland, as well as its commitment to raising awareness of and tackling harm caused by alcohol, and wishes Addictions Counselling Inverness all the best going forward in the delivery of its services.
