Hamilton College Renews Eco-Schools Green Flag Status for Sixth Time

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Hamilton College on the renewal of its Eco-Schools Green Flag status; understands that the school has taken part in the Eco-Schools programme since 2010 making this its sixth green flag renewal; notes that Eco-Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world with 19.5 million children, young people and educators engaged worldwide in 74 different countries, delivered in Scotland by Keep Scotland Beautiful, with support from the Scottish Government; recognises the hard work and dedication of the Eco Committee, comprised of learners from every class, and the wider school community on their efforts, which have included community litter picks, attendance at COP26 workshops, planting 100 trees and improving their knowledge on environmental issues by watching short films on sustainability solutions for the community, and commends Hamilton College’s commitment to the whole school, pupil-led approach to learning for sustainability.
