Turkish Airstrikes in Kurdish-majority Towns

That the Parliament condemns Turkish airstrikes, which have reportedly hit Kurdish-majority towns in northern Syria and Iraq, including, it understands, the city of Kobani, on 19 and 20 November 2022; notes with concern that these airstrikes have reportedly killed at least 13 civilians, including one journalist and injured many others as well as destroyed or damaged civilian infrastructure, including a hospital, grains silo and a power plant; further notes what it sees as the apparent pattern of military action being taken against the Kurdish populations of Syria, Iraq and within Turkey itself during periods of domestic unpopularity for what it considers as the ultranationalist AKP government under Recep Erdogan, or in the periods leading up to elections or referendums; calls on Turkey to cease what it considers as the unjustified bombing campaigns in Syrian and Iraqi Kurdistan and the threats of a further invasion of north east Syria, and to withdraw its forces from the areas of Syria already reportedly under Turkish occupation, and offers its solidarity to the peoples of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in what it believes to be their collective endeavour to establish a peaceful, democratic and feminist society.
