Helping Children in Poverty Inverclyde
The motion
That the Parliament commends nine-year-old Ella Harley and her mum, Jennifer, on their recent toy appeal to ensure that no child is left without a present under the tree this Christmas; understands that the Harleys signed up to back the Children in Poverty Inverclyde festive appeal and were overwhelmed by the number of gifts left at their door; further understands that Ella and some of her friends took part in the toy drive in 2021 as well, and wanted to do something for children who do not get as many presents as they do around Christmas time; notes that the recipient of the toys will be the Rainbow Centre, which provides early learning and childcare and can give the presents to the families most in need, and commends their effort in helping those around them in their local community.
