Hamilton Advertiser's Christmas Toy Appeal

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the generosity of individuals and organisations across the West of Scotland, who have donated hundreds of toys and gifts to the Hamilton Advertiser’s Christmas Toy Appeal in aid of South Lanarkshire’s most vulnerable families; notes that Fighting Scots Gym in Bellshill donated over 100 gifts, alongside Montessori Nursery and Hamilton Grammar who are understood to have offered huge support to the appeal; understands that the goodies will now be picked up by South Lanarkshire Council’s team of hardworking social work staff and its partner agencies who will then distribute a bag full of toys, gifts and sweets to every parent and carer on their lists in time for them to wrap up for Christmas Day, and applauds the Hamilton Advertiser for running this successful campaign each year to bring joy to some of the most vulnerable households through the Christmas holiday.
