£13 Million in Grants Awarded to Scotland’s Coastal Communities

The motion

As an amendment to motion S6M-07096 in the name of Stephanie Callaghan (£13 Million in Grants Awarded to Scotland’s Coastal Communities), insert at end "; further understands that the Scottish Government is prevented from making long-term strategic investments because the UK Government will only provide funding on a one-year basis whilst the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) provided multi-year allocations; believes that, based on the EMFF budget for 2021-2027, and on Scotland’s sea area alone, an equitable and evidence-based funding share would be £62 million per annum, and considers that, in light of what it sees as the, as yet unfulfilled, UK Government promise to match EU funding, Scottish businesses and coastal communities are being short changed by a hard Brexit that was forced on Scotland against its expressed democratic will."
