Railway Tavern Motherwell Raises Over £18,000 for Cancer Charities

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the owners and patrons of the Railway Tavern in Motherwell who raised £18,100 for cancer charities; understands that the money was raised by hosting charity events in memory of Sharon Docherty, who had recently passed away after a cancer diagnosis two years earlier; further understands that the donations raised were spread across three charities in which St Andrews Hospice received £15,100, Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust received £2,000 and Cancer Research UK received £1,000, and thanks the Railway Tavern and the local community for their contributions of a commendable amount towards cancer charities.
