Falkirk Employment and Training Unit Marks 20 Years
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Falkirk Council’s Employment and Training Unit (ETU) on 20 years in operation, and values the contribution that it has made to local people and employers during that time; understands that, over the last two decades, the service has helped more than 20,000 local people into employment and training and has made a significant contribution towards tackling poverty across the Falkirk district; further understands that, in the last 10 years, the ETU has supported in excess of 10,000 people through employability support provision, resulting in more than 4,000 job and modern apprenticeship starts; commends ETU staff and their employment and training partners for all their efforts in supporting local people in finding positive pathways to enhance their employment chances and economic activity, and wishes them all the best for the future as they continue to play a valuable role in challenging economic circumstances.
