Free Bus Service Provided by Glenfarg Community Transport Group

The motion

That the Parliament commends the work of the volunteers in the Glenfarg Community Transport Group on launching a free weekly bus service for the next 18 months; values what it sees as the partnership work from Perth and Kinross Council, the Robertson Trust and many members of the community to provide grant funding and support for this bus service; recognises the work of the group in providing a truly community-led service, particularly to many older people in the village who rely on public transport to stay connected; understands that this comes after Stagecoach withdrew a similar service from the area, and that this provides an important link to other existing bus services; thanks the community for stepping in to provide this service, and wishes every success to the volunteers and all involved in the project.
