Milngavie Accountant and Disability Rights Advocate, Elaine Boyd, Named in The King’s New Year Honours List
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Milngavie resident, Elaine Boyd, on being named in The King’s New Year Honours list; understands that Elaine, who is a director at Audit Scotland and a chartered certified accountant, was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to charity and public service; notes that Elaine has cerebral palsy and has been a passionate advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion for the last 20 years through her roles as a charity trustee and representative at various organisations, including Cerebral Palsy Scotland, Riding for the Disabled Association and Disability Snowsport UK; recognises that Elaine has also been named as one of the UK’s most influential disabled people in 2021 and 2022; applauds the inspirational work and contribution that Elaine has made to give disabled people a voice, and applauds her for this outstanding and well-deserved achievement.
