Marathon Effort from Bo’ness’ Eddie Hughes, Raising £61,000 for Cancer Charities
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Eddie Hughes of Bo’ness, Falkirk, on his fundraising success for a variety of worthy causes, including cancer charities; recognises that, over the past 12 years, Eddie has raised over £61,000 for charity; notes that the most recent donation Eddie made was £5,150 to Breast Cancer Now and Children with Cancer UK, and represents the total monetary culmination of his fundraising efforts in 2022, which included running the New York marathon; understands that each year Eddie chooses two worthy causes to be the beneficiaries of his fundraising, one of which is always a cancer charity in honour of loved ones who were lost to the disease; congratulates Eddie once again on the fantastic total he has raised thus far, and wishes him all the best with his fundraising efforts in 2023, which will benefit the Children’s Tumour Foundation and Breast Cancer Now.
