RGU Launches Inclusive Wheelchair Basketball Team for North East Students

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Robert Gordon University (RGU), Scottish Disability Sport (SDS), Grampian Flyers and the university’s Disability Sport Working Group on securing funding of £15,000 from the Morrisons Foundation for the purchase of ten sport wheelchairs; considers that wheelchair basketball is an entirely inclusive sport, irrespective of disabilities, enabling competitors to come together on one equal playing field with no prior experience necessary; understands that the aim is to open the sport up to a new audience in the north east; notes that sessions will be hosted at RGU SPORT; commends the work of Robert Gordon University, its partners and sponsors for promoting inclusive sports, and extends its best wishes for future success.
