Bearsden Resident Raises £3,000 for Beatson Cancer Charity

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bearsden resident, Vicki Houston, for raising £3,000 for the Beatson Cancer Charity; understands that Vicki raised money for the brilliant charity through her CardioFunk fitness classes at the Bearsden Community Hub, promoting fitness through dancing for all ages; recognises that Vicki, who had been a fitness instructor, dancer, and dancing teacher for many years before taking a break to raise her family, set up CardioFunk in May 2022 after her Mum, Isabel Heffernan, lost her battle to lung cancer at the Beatson in 2020, at the age of 76; commends Vicki for coming up with such an innovative way to raise funds for a cause that is so close to her and many other people’s hearts, and applauds Vicki and all those involved with the classes for this achievement.
