Kirkintilloch Bakery Crowned as Home of the Best Apple Pie in Scotland

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Peter’s Bakery of Kirkintilloch on winning two top trophies at the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards 2023; delights that, as well as the prestigious accolade of being crowned as the home of the best apple pie in Scotland, the family bakers in the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency also took a bronze award for its steak and haggis pies; understands that the prize-winning trophies were presented to the bakery team at a glittering ceremony at Dunfermline on 24 January 2023; recognises that the Awards were launched in 1999 by proud Scottish butcher and baker, Alan Stuart, with an aim to focus on quality and innovation, and acknowledges that, since then, the competition has gone from strength to strength to the benefit of customers the length and breadth of the country.
