£10,000 Grant for Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative on receiving a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative will use the funding to pay for sessional staff salaries so that it can continue to deliver the group's youth project in Mintlaw's leisure centre; notes that the group's proposed impact of its youth project is to establish a good relationship with young people in Mintlaw and Central Buchan to help them make the right choices later in life; commends the project for aiming to achieve higher levels of youth participation in sport, social events and cultural activities; acknowledges that the project also aims to reduce bullying, crime and drug and alcohol consumption, as well as promote better mental health in young people; understands that the project has benefitted from the leisure centre creating a youth room, and wishes Mintlaw and Central Buchan Initiative continued success with its project.
