Georgia McIntosh Representing Team Scotland at the World Cheerleading Championships

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Georgia McIntosh from Wishaw on her selection to represent SportCheer’s Team Scotland at the World Cheerleading Championships in Florida; understands that Georgia, who is an S3 pupil at Clyde Valley High School, has been dancing for over a decade, and is a member of CDC dance school in Uddingston; notes that Georgia has been training with Team Scotland since the start of October 2022 and that this will continue into March 2023, in preparation for the international competition in Orlando in April 2023; understands that, on top of the international training and important school work, Georgia recently applied to do a five-day STEM course in Engineering at the University of Strathclyde; notes that Georgia is fundraising for her trip to the USA by undertaking a sponsored walk of the distance from her home in Wishaw to Glasgow Airport, which is approximately 24 miles; commends Georgia on her hard work, and wishes her the best in her fundraising endeavours and at the World Cheerleading Championships.
