NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Scales Up Non-urgent Activity

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as it scales up non-urgent activity in line with its recovery plan; understands that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recovering its elective and outpatient services following a short pause of some activity in December 2022 and January 2023; notes that more than 1,200 inpatient and day-cases procedure took place while outpatient activity increased to pre-December levels, with more than 6,000 appointments occurring across acute sites; understands that, notwithstanding pressures throughout December and January, there has been a continuation of urgent and emergency care, providing vital care to patients throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde; further understands that, despite the impact of respiratory infection (RSV) at the Royal Hospital for Children, elective surgery has been delivered to almost normal levels throughout that period; considers that challenges remain; understands that the board is committed to reducing waiting lists and that it continues to ensure resources are allocated based on priority; thanks NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and its staff for their efforts in this recovery, and welcomes this commitment to recovery plans.
