Cullivoe Primary School in Shetland Achieves Sixth Green Flag Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates pupils at Cullivoe Primary School in Shetland who have received an Eco-Schools Green Flag award for their environmental work; understands that the international award recognises schools that demonstrate a commitment to the Eco-Schools Scotland programme by engaging the school community in climate action; further understands that this is the sixth Green Flag that Cullivoe has received; commends pupils at Cullivoe for their efforts over the past two years on improving the school grounds, learning about types of energy and why energy prices have risen and their climate action work; praises the achievements of pupils, staff and the local community in attaining this award; supports the aim of the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award to reward and motivate ecological achievements and active engagement with environmental issues; notes that Shetland Primary Schools in Dunrossness and in Sandness also currently hold Eco Schools Green Flag Awards, with other Shetland schools working towards gaining awards, and wishes the pupils of Cullivoe Primary School well in their continued environmental work.
