Congratulating Lanarkshire Pupils on Winning Lanarkshire Larder's Recipe Challenge

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the success of the seven talented pupils across Lanarkshire who were shortlisted out of 30 entries to Lanarkshire Larder’s bake and cook-off challenge to deliver a unique dish comprising of locally-sourced ingredients only; understands that the challenge aimed to increase the pupils' awareness of the diverse range of quality and sustainable food and drink across Lanarkshire; celebrates the success of Asma Farzand and Ava-Grace Bradshaw, from Taylor High School in New Stevenston, who won the competition with their coffee cupcakes; understands that their winning bakes are now being sold to FOWER Coffee customers in Strathaven, with the recipe being featured on the Lanarkshire Larder’s website, and that Asma and Ava-Grace have won a farm visit for their class with the Royal Highland Education Trust, and a cookery demonstration from Quality Meat Scotland; understands that Lanarkshire Larder is a regional food group that includes local and quality food and drink producers, restaurants, cafés, pubs, hotels, and farm shops, and commends the group's mission to promote independent businesses, encourage the purchase and use of fresh, locally-sourced produce, and establish Lanarkshire as a centre of excellence for food and drink.
