Blue Bell Inn in Annan

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Blue Bell Inn in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, and its manager, Charmaine Kerr, on their remarkable achievement of winning the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Dumfriesshire area Pub of the Year Award for a fourth year in a row; notes that the Blue Bell Inn also won the CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2023, out of the 42 Dumfries and Stewartry CAMRA sub-branch members; understands that CAMRA is a member-supported organisation that advocates for real ale to be stocked in independent pubs; notes that the historically important, grade C listed former coaching inn, which dates from 1770 and was once visited by the renowned Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, is brewing its own “Wotte and Bailey” beer; commends the Blue Bell Inn for hosting a cider festival on 28 May 2023 and a beer festival from 27 to 28 August 2023; wishes both the cause of real ale brewing and the Blue Bell Inn every success for the future, and encourages all to visit the inn when in Annan.
