Sad Passing of "Mr Morton", Allan McGraw

The motion

That the Parliament notes the sad passing of Greenock Morton FC legend, Allan McGraw, at the age of 83; recognises the immeasurable contribution Allan made to the club having started and finished his playing career at Cappielow, scoring more than 100 league goals, and helping Greenock Morton FC win promotion to the top flight in 1964; acknowledges that Allan returned again to manage Greenock Morton FC in 1985 and did so for 12 years, bringing through a raft of young talent that went on to achieve so much in the game; notes that while Allan did also play for Hibernian, Toronto City and Linfield, his career as a player and manager was defined by his time at Greenock Morton FC, where, it understands, he is regarded as a Morton "legend" and as one of Scottish football's most respected figures, having been inducted into the national Hall of Fame in 2017, and notes that the main stand at Cappielow was recently named after Allan McGraw, otherwise known as "Mr Morton", who will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all supporters of Greenock Morton FC.
