A Dyslexic Life Campaign

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the campaign, A Dyslexic Life, which originated in the Na h-Eileanan an Iar constituency; understands that around one in 10 people in Scotland are thought to have dyslexia; further understands that this figure is considerably higher for the prison population; notes the calls for there to be earlier screening for dyslexia in primary schools, and to improve teacher training relating to dyslexia and other neurodivergent conditions; commends the educational institutions that proactively screen and assess children for dyslexia; welcomes training for teachers to recognise the signs of dyslexia, and commends the work of teachers and parents who actively assist children with dyslexia.
