USDAW Campaign, Me, Work, and the Menopause
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the USDAW trade union's campaign, Me, Work, and the Menopause, which advocates for greater workplace rights for those experiencing menopause symptoms at work; recognises what it sees as the importance of this campaign, given that, according to the campaign, over half of those experiencing noticeable menopausal symptoms also consequently experience difficulties both within and out of work; further recognises what it considers the necessity of this campaign, as women comprise over half of USDAW’s members and activists as well as over half of the UK workforce, and thanks USDAW for launching this campaign, which, it believes, encourages women to recognise and discuss menopause symptoms while raising awareness of the necessary steps that can be taken to support USDAW’s members who are in this situation.
