Congratulating Mauchline Florist on Double Award at Scottish Wedding Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Mauchline’s James Gemmell, of JG Flowers, on his double award win at the 2023 Scottish Wedding Awards; notes that James was awarded Florist of the Year South West and Florist of the Year Overall Winner, on 28 February 2023, at the Scottish Wedding Award finals held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow; understands that James has been in the floristry business for just under three years, with his journey in the industry beginning after he supplied flowers for his sister’s wedding in 2020; further understands that he was made aware of his shortlisting for the award in October 2022 after a bride nominated his small business, in addition to which he then went on to collect further votes, before submitting supporting evidence in the form of testimonials and photographs to a judging panel; applauds James for his hard work, and wishes him continued success and all the best in his future endeavours.
